A New Year, New Workshops

A new year is almost here and at the Learning Disabilities Association of Wellington County, we are celebrating with a list of great workshops and events!

We have our Peer Support Network, a free, virtual event where we exchange ideas, thoughts and challenges, resources, supports and successes. As parents, it is helpful to gather with each other and share our journeys. This is a monthly meeting and we look forward to you joining in.

In February, we have Ken White and Peter Curtis offering a workshop on the Disability Tax Credit and the RDSP. A highly informative session that will provide you with all you need to know in order to help your family member. And they are providing two gift baskets for a draw afterward as well!

In March, Christine MacDonald, CPA, CA, will be doing two virtual workshops for kids. We are excited to present a financial literacy workshop on the responsibilities of owning a pet and another workshop on budgeting and expenses.

In April, Angela Heeley from CMHA (Canadian Mental Health Association) will be doing a workshop on ‘Care for the Caregiver’.

That is just a few of the events we will be offering, with more in the planning stages. All events must be registered for so we can send you a link. Don’t miss out! Please keep in touch with all we offer and sign up for our e-blasts.

Wishing you peace and joy in the coming year!
